As an independent C&G tutor I ran two groups, one in Dundee and the other over in Ladybank, Fife which is about 23 miles from home. I really enjoyed my trips across the River Tay and through North Fife to work with the group at Off The Rails Arthouse, Ladybank. The rural Fife landscape seemed to change almost every week through the seasons, each season painting the countryside with a different palette of colour. So it was lovely to be back the other weekend to teach a two day workshop – Drawn to the Edge. This is one of my favourite workshops and I am never disappointed by the results. Last weekend was no exception and I thought I would share some images from the work produced by my excellent students.
The idea behind the workshop is to create design ideas that can be taken into textiles or whatever discipline is the focus of the student but worked through with a particular focus on the edges of the given paper.
Aren’t they good? Fanstastic texture and colour and I look forward to seeing where these ideas go from here.
